CNN article/song and bush fire benefit from Mariposa Upshaw

Dear Friends:

Most of you know me well enough to know my heart and how I feel about art in all of its aspects -visual art, music, dance - and that I truly believe art can change the world. I've called upon friends to support my efforts and dreams on behalf of autism last year and will again this April, but right now, we have a more immediate concern and it is my hope that you will once again, help support an art-related effort that is driven by compassion and humanitarianism.

Angel Dorei Museum's February exhibition is the art of Australia and New Zealand. It has been a joy and honour to display this art and get to know these talented artists. As most of you are aware during the first weekend of February, Victoria Australia became ablaze with devasting deadly bush fires. After listening to my friends who are very dear try to describe the horror of the fires, I felt compelled to do something.. the results:
(1) The benefit last Sunday at Angel Dorei which raised 125,000L due to the contributions of 12 fantastic SL Musicians: Joaquin Gustav, Jubal Enyo, Mash Rhode, Russell Eponym, MichelleD Ecksol, Charles Somerset, Quinton Whitman, Senjata Witt, FrankLee Anatra, Cylindrian Rutabaga, Jessy Sommer, and Jackdog Snook.

(2) The song.. I asked Experiment Rhode if he would like to try to write a song with me about the fires.. we worked on the lyrics and sent the lyrics to Bright Oh, our friend and guitarist lead singer (together with guitarist singer Charles Somerset) of their band Somerset Oh & Rhode.. the result is the song "Too Many Tears" which can be heard/downloaded thru Bright's webpage http://www.brightoh.com/Bright/WHOISBRIGHT.html

I was also honored to be interviewed by Raphaella Nightfire who posted an article here: http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-215726?ref=feeds%2Flatest

So I am asking each of you if you would, please listen to the song, please view the article and if you could, please leave comments on the article for if it gets attention it might make it to CNN news on television. Our hope is to somehow get this song heard and played to raise funds for the bush fire appeal.

Help make art change the world.. we are just citizens of the universe..
thank you for your help
xoxo Mari
